I have a 1984 Kountry Air 5th wheel with a living room slide that quit sliding out. I checked the switch and it has power to the terminals and when you put a jumper across the terminals the motor works so I assumed the switch must be bad. I contacted the manufacturer and they said the toggle switch I have is no longer available. Do you have any suggestions?
ANSWER: Greetings David thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.
Yes, it does sound like the switch is the culprit. I searched around the internet for slideout switches and only found one place that had more than 2 switches available.
I found the largest selection of RV Slideout Switches on eBay. All of these switches have buy it now prices, so you do not have to do any bidding. If they do not have the exact slideout switch you need, I am sure that one of the switches they have will work for you with some minor modifications.
The only other suggestion I have is to check in your area for Salvage Yards that have salvaged RV parts. You might luck out and find the exact switch you need.
I hope that this information has been helpful to you.
