The RV Park, Vagabundos Del Mar, located in Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur, Mexico has been around for many years. A wonderful park situated close to town (walking distance) where Snowbirds have flocked to as a winter destination for as long as this Vagabundos has been open, some all winter, others only for a few nights. In the beginning, Vagabundos Del Mar-the travel club, owned and operated the park including the restaurant and a pool. For some time now the park is owned independently and about 2 years ago the restaurant was established as Vagabundos del Mar Trailer Park Restaurant under new management and operated by Peter Cashmore and Joe de la Borbolla.


Peter is a Canadian who has resided on Baja in Mexico for many years, in previous years Peter owned and operated a Security Company in British Columbia which he later sold. Joe is a Mexican who also resides on Baja and was one of the original players in the restaurant chain known as Carlos and Charlies. Both Joe and Peter resided previously at the RV Park in San Jose del Cabo, Brisa Del Mar when it was closed suddenly and all residents evicted for redevelopment about five years ago, which to date has never happened. Hence Peter & Joe moved to Vagabundos del Mar as permanents (permanent residents).

Although the restaurant has always been in the park, it has never been the center of attention like it is today. Peter and Joe have
done an outstanding job creating a sports bar atmosphere with their high definition TVs and fabulous menu that includes Dinosaur Soup, a Taco Platter to die for and Joe’s BBQd Ribs cooked by Joe himself, every dish served at this eatery is simply “muy ricco”, we can assure you. They now have patrons from around Los Cabos frequenting this establishment on a regular basis as the word gets out and the positive reviews build. Their success is based on the fact they really care about the patrons, they have a great chef (5 star), the staff are very helpful and courteous and their prices are very reasonable, actually exceptionally reasonable. They are located at KM 3 on the Carretera Transpeninsular (connecting highway between Cabo San Lucas & San Jose Del Cabo).

Imagine that, what more could an RVer ask for; great food at a reasonable price watching your favorite sport in the palms with warm tropic breezes in January. This is one of our favorite stops for sure when we are on or off a tour.

This RV park was one of the highlights of our Baja 1000 race in 2007. Cabo was the finish line, and we picked this park to recouperate from the two days of dust and crazyness during the race. The resturaunt was better than any place in town. The owner even prepared us two personal meals with our supplied jumbo shrimp and mahi-mahi. There was an employee of the park named Favio that helped us gringos find our way around Cabo, and he went way above the call of duty.
If you get a chance, visit this park and stay for as long as you can.
