Strike Gold RVing in Sacramento
Editor's Note This story was submitted on our What Is Your Favorite RVing Or Camping Destination Page
As a native Californian, I enjoy visiting our state capital of Sacramento. It's a beautiful old city with lots of big shade trees and a historic district with original brick buildings from the Gold Rush era. The Sacramento River offers plenty of outdoor fun in the warm summer sun for the whole family. You can also drive up to tour the old gold mining towns in the Sierra Nevada foothills a few miles east, where you can try your luck panning for gold!
You'll find plenty of spacious RV parks in the area with full hookups and room for big rigs. The dining and shopping rival larger, more cosmopolitan cities like Los Angeles, and you'll find plenty of art galleries and museums to perk your interest as well. I like the Sacramento area so much I've compiled a list of things to see and do for anyone traveling through.
