I have a 1994 Fleetwood Flair with a Chevrolet P30 chassis. I replaced the shocks, but didn't install Bilstein Shocks. It seems to me the front suspension is noisy and rough. Is this something that Bilstein shocks will help, or is it just the nature of this type of chassis?
ANSWER: Thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.
Based on your description it is hard for me to determine what is going on with the front end of your Motorhome. Bilstein Shock Absorbers are excellent shocks for Motorhome use. That being said; they in all likelihood will not eliminate the front end noise and problems you are having.
The noise and roughness you are describing can be indicators of some problems you may have in the front end of your Motorhome that need to be looked at. I urge you to take your Motorhome in and have the front end checked out and repaired if needed. Based on the age of your RV this would be a prudent step to take.
If after the repairs to your Motorhome you are still not satisfied with the ride and handling performance of your RV you should read the answer I gave to How Can I Improve The Handling Performance Of My RV?. The answer outlines the steps I have taken to improve the ride and stability of my current Motorhome. Needless to say I am quite happy with the improvements I have made.
I hope this helps.
