Since this vehicle will become your home away from home, you may want to add your personal touch and make it feel cozy and warm for you and your family. Here are some things you can do to make your RV luxurious.

Buy a New Mattress

Although the quality of campers has significantly improved throughout the years, you may still desire more from your mattress. If yours is uncomfortable, consider adding a topper or purchasing a new mattress altogether. Choose from various materials, including foam, innerspring, or latex. If you plan to buy a regular mattress, make sure you measure the space in your RV's bedroom to ensure it will fit, as the platform in an RV is sized differently than mattresses you buy for your home. Rather than disposing of your old bed, look into mattress donations. There are plenty of people who are in need.

Invest in a Washer/Dryer Combo Unit

RVs have limited space, so think about purchasing a washer/dryer combo unit, instead of packing your entire wardrobe. You can find units to use in the comfort of the RV. Some RVs are even pre-plumbed and pre-wired for a washer/dryer combo. If your RV is not pre-wired or pre-plumbed for a washer/dryer combination unit, you may have to get it installed by an RV Technician. 

Paint the Walls

To give your RV a new, exciting look, grab a brush and some paint and add a new color to those dull walls. Luckily, there isn't too much wall space in these vehicles, so the task shouldn't take too long. However, a little paint can make a dramatic difference in bringing the interior to life. A lighter color will brighten up the space and make it look larger.

Decorate the Space

To make this temporary house feel like your actual home, you should add some personal touches. Hang up family photos and put out knick-knacks. Of course, you won't want to set out too many items because you'll have to store them before you hit the road again. However, adding some things here and there will make you miss being away from home a little less.

Purchase Plants

If you love the way plants, add to a home's quality, buy some different types to keep in your RV during your camping getaway. There are several benefits to adding them to the space, such as better air quality. They also aid in concentration and are known to decrease stress levels. Spider plants, bamboo, aloe vera, African violets, and ivy are popular choices. Since there is limited counter space, you'll have to find other places to keep your plants. Consider hanging them from the ceiling or the wall. An alternative is to suction them to windows. However, you may want to avoid this option unless the plant is small and lightweight.

You don't have to make a lot of costly alterations to create a comfortable RV. A few small changes can transform your camper from a small hotel room to a luxurious space.
