I have a 2007 Flagstaff 831 QBSS with the Concertone ZX 500 control system. I need to know how to turn the outdoor speakers on. I have the manual but can't find anything on this issue.
ANSWER: Greetings Jim thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.
Your Multimedia Unit is one of several Concertone RV Multimedia Units that have what are called speaker zones. The ZX500 has 3 speaker zones that you can choose from.
On the front of your unit you will see three buttons marked A, B and C. You use those buttons to choose the speakers you want to hear the sound from. Button A is for the main sound in your RV and can output 5.1 surround sound. The B and C buttons are for auxiliary speakers and are only capable of outputting standard stereo sound.
If your unit was setup properly by the RV Manufacturer either the B or C button will output sound to the outside speakers. The best way to find out which of the two buttons controls the outside speakers on your RV is to tune to a radio station or put in an audio CD while the speakers are set to the A zone.
Once you hear sound coming out of your inside speakers push either the B or C button to see which one transfers the audio to your outside speakers. Important Note: You may have to turn up the volume after you switch speaker zones as the volume may reset to 0 when you switch from the A speaker zone and you will not hear any sound until you increase the volume.
If after you have done this and you still do not have any sound coming out of the outside speakers then it means that the outside speakers were never hooked up to the multimedia unit or the unit itself is malfunctioning.
If all else fails you may want to Contact Concertone and see if they can help you.
I hope this helps.
