How Do I Get Hot Water In My Motorhome?

by Jeff
(PG, UTAH)

Just got an 83 midas 240-1 on Ford Chassis, filled the water tank, plus hooked it up to my hose, replaced the plug in the bottom of water heater, bled the air with the pressure pop off, lit the burner, but no hot water, is there a bypass valve somewhere or something.

ANSWER: Greetings Jeff thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

Yes your water heater could be bypassed. Please read the answer I gave to How Come There Is No Water In Our RV's Hot Water Heater?

What I would also suggest that you do before you turn on the water heater is to do some routine maintenance on it to make sure it is ready to be turned on.

Below is a video from RV Expert Mark Polk from RV Education 101, it gives you the proper steps to maintain your Water Heater.
