Hi ..What is the proper way to fix a bent frame on a travel trailer ours hit bump moved cup boards lifted the bench off the floor etc .. AC touching the roof on 1 corner the frame is bent, would there be structural damage? Should it be looked at by a certified RV shop or an auto body shop?

Thanks

ANSWER: Greetings Pete thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

You must have hit one heck of a bump to cause the damage that you have described. Based on your description I am going to guess that you may have sustained some other damage to the structural integrity of your Travel Trailer.

Depending on the actual damage, your Travel Trailer may not be repairable. The first thing I would do is contact a local RV dealer in your area and see if they have a Body Shop that they can recommend to inspect your Travel Trailer.

If the frame or structural integrity of your Travel Trailer is severely compromised, it may end up costing you more to repair then it would be to buy a comparable new or used Travel Trailer.

Sorry that you are going through this and I hope that you find out that the damage is not as bad as first thought.
