The Waste Dump Handle On My RV Came Off Can I Replace It?

The black tank lever came off, while I was winterizing the camper. Can this be repaired or replaced. If so how?

ANSWER: Greetings thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

You might be able to find a replacement handle for your waste valve (depending on the manufacturer of the waste valve).

If the handle cannot be replaced then I am afraid that the RV Waste Valve will have to be replaced. The replacement of the valve is simple but can be rather messy. I cannot give you the exact steps as I do not know what type of RV you have. I suggest that you follow the directions that come with the valve.

If you are not comfortable replacing the valve yourself then I suggest that you take your RV in and have a Certified RV Technician perform the work.

If you want to make your waste dumping a lot easier you can always upgrade your waste valves to Electric Waste Valves.icon The electric waste valves are more expensive then a normal waste valve, but all you have to do is press a button to dump the waste as opposed to getting down and dirty and manually pulling the handles. The waste dump buttons can be located anywhere in your RV.

I hope that this information has been helpful to you.
