Will a New Fuel Pump Increase the Hill Climbing Power of My Motorhome?

by Jesse
(Chatsworth, GA)

Will an aftermarket fuel pump deliver more power for hill climbing, and if so, what pressure should I increase to?

ANSWER: Greetings Jesse thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

The simple answer to your question is no; a new fuel pump will not increase the power of your Motorhome’s engine. If the engine on your RV has not been modified to use more fuel at full throttle then putting on a new fuel pump will not increase the power of your engine.

As long as your current fuel pump is operating properly and it is meeting the engines peak fuel needs at full throttle then replacing it will not increase the hill climbing power of your engine.

I hope this helps.
