Which Is Better A Cougar Travel Trailer Or A Prowler Travel Trailer?

by Darryl
(Cranbrook)

I’m considering purchasing a travel trailer either a 24 foot Cougar or a Prowler. I want to know which is the better quality?

ANSWER: Greetings Darryl thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

Here is some information you need to know about the two Travel Trailers you are looking at:

Cougar Travel Trailers are manufactured by Keystone RV Company, which is still actively manufacturing Travel Trailers and 5th Wheel Trailers.

Prowler Travel Trailers used to be manufactured by Fleetwood Enterprises. Due to a recent Chapter 11 bankruptcy Fleetwood Enterprises is no longer manufacturing Travel Trailers. In fact on May 9th, 2009 they sold their Travel Trailer Division to Northwood Manufacturing Incorporated.

As far as which one is a better travel trailer; I am afraid that I cannot answer that question for you.

If you are interested in how the Cougar Travel Trailers are constructed you should visit their website and watch their Trailer Construction Video. I am not sure what year the Cougar Travel Trailer is that you are looking at but the video shows how they are constructed now.

I would like to refer you to a video on how the Prowler is constructed, but there are none available.

I am going to open up this question to our visitors and see if any of them have opinions on the two trailers that you are looking at.

As for buying a trailer, My choice would be Jayco or Nash, Jayco has a two year warranty and I have had two Nash's that have both been very good.
