What Size Portable Generator Do I Need To Run An AC Unit On My RV?

by Anonymous

Want to buy a portable generator. 30 amp service to my unit but want to run AC unit if I stop during my trip to nap. How small is too small?

ANSWER: Thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

The bare minimum portable generator I would recommend you get is at least a 3000 Watt Portable Generator and that is only if you are just planning to run the 1 AC unit and no TV, Microwave, etc.

When it comes to portable generators bigger is always better and sometimes the price differences between a higher wattage and lower wattage generator is negligible.
