The Slide Out Seals On My 2007 Pilgrim Cirrus Travel Trailer Keep Leaking Should I Get Rid Of It?

by Brad Jackson
(Ortonville MI, )

I have bought a 2007 pilgrim cirrus 27 crb with a super slide. We bought it new in august of 2009 and I still have 7 months left on my warranty.

I have had the trailer into the dealer 7 times for the seals leaking each time they replace 1 seal like the side then the next time the other side then the bottom and so on. They have replaced all the seals in and out and as long as it is level it does not leak.

After the seals were fixed they took up the tile and found a piece of rotted floor they replaced the wood and stained killed the floor. I picked out new tile.

I was told by the dealer I could have a 100% of my money back to buy a new trailer.

I have been looking for 2 months and can not find a trailer I like. I know Pilgrim is not building trailers.

Do you hear anything bad about the cirrus? Should I take my money and run or since they have rebuilt the slide with new tile should I keep it.

My main question: is the 27crb 2007 cirrus a good trailer.

Thanks

Brad Jackson

ANSWER: Greetings Brad thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

I will try to keep this short and to the point. First I have not heard anything good, bad or indifferent about the Pilgrim Cirrus 27 CRB. The fact that Pilgrim International is out of business should not be the reason why you should return this trailer as it sounds like the dealer that you bought it from is taking care of the warranty work at their cost.

OK here is where my personal opinion comes in. You have had the trailer in 7 times to get it repaired they have discovered and replaced bad slide seals, rotting floors, replaced tile, etc. My question is when have you had time to enjoy your trailer?

If I were you I would take the dealership up on their generous offer of refunding you 100% of your money and go out and find another RV. There are all kinds of great deals out there right now on Travel Trailers, 5th Wheels, etc.

If you want to get an idea of what is available and what the prices are like right now stop by our Buy Or Sell An RV Pageand I think you will be surprised at what you can get for a relatively good price.

Well so much for keeping this short and to the point, but the bottom line is you deserve to enjoy the RV Lifestyle and not spend your all of your leisure time in an RV Repair Shop. As I said this is solely my opinion and there may be others that disagree with my opinion.

i bought a 2009 31ft cirrus last year and we were out 14 times and we love it. we had one little problem with the pilot light on the stove other then that its a really well built trailer compared to a lot junk out there, would not trade it for any trailer out there
