RV Refrigerator Does Not Get Cold

by Anonymous

The refrigerator is running on both gas and electricity, but just quit cooling and refrigerator stays warm. What could be the problem?

ANSWER: Thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

The first thing I am going to suggest you do is to turn off the refrigerator completely until you find out what the problem is. The second thing is if your Refrigerator is made by Norcold or Dometic they could be subject to a recall.

To find if your Norcold Refrigerator has been recalled visit the Norcold Product Recall Page. To find out if your Dometic Refrigerator is subject to a recall visit the Dometic Recall Information Page. If your refrigerator is subject to recall you need to take care of that before you do anything else.

If your fridge is not subject to recall or the recall work has already been done then the problem you are experiencing could be caused by anything from a bad refrigerator control board to a blocked vent on the fridge.

It may be necessary to have your refrigerator checked out and repaired by a Certified RV Technician. Prior to doing that you might want to watch the video below by RVing Expert Mark Polk as it may help you find a solution to your problem without having to take your RV in for repair.
