Note from RVing Al: As you can imagine as the owner of an RVing website; I get contacted a lot by companies selling RVing products asking me to promote their products on Everything About RVing and I usually turn them down unless I have actually used their product and like it. When the article below was submitted to me I was impressed by this product for a couple of reasons first for it's ingenious yet simple design and that it actually solves a common problem most RVers experience with their awnings and slide-toppers. So I decided to go ahead and add it to EARV. Happy RVing

Cheap awning cover
by: Anonymous

I purchased a ten foot corrugated drain pipe for 15 bucks and just slit it all the way. It snaps right over the awning and has been in use for two years now. Great for winter storage.

Cheaper Awning Cover

Go to your local big box store and purchase the 10 foot length plastic rain gutters. You probably will need at least two or more depending on length of awning. Turn gutters upside down and cover your rolled up awning. The small curved flange of the gutter will fit snug into the small gutter attached to RV and just roll the gutter down over the awning. When two or more sections are needed, just use a small piece of the cutoff section to cover the seam. This extra section will fit over both. It will fit snug and provide cover against the damaging suns rays. Be sure and remove before traveling.
