None of The Holding Tank Gauges Work On My RV

by Rory Miller

I have a 1996 Pace Arrow Vision 36 b where are the holding tanks? The monitor works for the batteries and the propane but do not for the freshwater and the black and grey. The panel is above the stove on the hood.

ANSWER: Hi Rory it is not unusual for the gauges for the Black and Grey water holding tanks to give inaccurate readings due to dirty holding tank sensor probes. In most cases this problem can be solved by adding some Holding Tank Probe Cleaner to the grey and black water tanks.

That being said, your problem is that you are not getting any readings from any of the holding tanks which leads me to believe that the problem may be with the panel itself or possibly the wiring going from the tanks to the panel.

At this point about the only thing a do-it-yourselfer can do is to carefully remove the panel and check for any loose connections on the back of the panel itself. If you do not find any loose connections then your best bet is to take your RV in and have a Certified RV Technician diagnose and repair the problem.

I hope this helps.

Holding Tank Guages

In most cases there will be false readings due to the sides of the tanks being damp or wet....you will get a "full" reading when in fact you may have under half full....most times wait for the tanks to settle after use then check. This will usually give you a more accurate reading.
