Main Breaker On RV Heats Up and Blows

Why does the main breaker heat up and blow in my new Wildcat 5th Wheeler when I turn on the air conditioner?

Hi Raymond, thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

The first thing I need to tell you is that if your 5th Wheel Trailer is a brand new unit then the problem you are experiencing should be covered by your warranty. I strongly suggest that you take your Fiver in to the dealer to get it repaired.

If you personally attempt to fix the problem and start messing with the electrical system you could void your RV's warranty.

That being said the problem could be caused by an internal problem in the AC unit which is causing it to draw too many amps while running or a bad circuit breaker or problems in the wiring leading to the AC Unit. The only way to find out for sure what is causing the problem is to have a Certified RV Technician take a look at your RV.

Hope this helps.
