Is My Trailer a Travel Trailer or a Park Model Trailer?

by Anonymous

We are purchasing a 2002 38ft Coachmen Cascade with a patio door and double slide, queen bedroom at the front and bunk room at the rear. Is this considered a travel trailer or a park model?

Wondering for insurance purposes which this would be?

ANSWER: Thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

Your Coachmen would be classified as a Travel Trailer. It is designed to be used and moved as frequently as you want and has temporary utility hookups as well as 12 volt house batteries and 12 volt electrical systems.

Park models are designed to be used more as a seasonal home and do not have a 12 volt electrical systems, house batteries, etc.

Of course you are always able to setup your Travel Trailer as a seasonal or permanent home if you choose to.

I hope this helps.
