I Am Looking To Buy A Used RV What Would You Recommend?

I am looking to buy a used RV newer than 1995, what do you recommend? A 34 footer max length.

ANSWER: Hi Kari congratulations on your decision to become an RVer you will not regret it. Buying an RV is a very personal decision. My taste in RVs may not be the same as yours. You have to match your RV to your particular lifestyle.

Some people prefer 5th Wheel Trailers or Travel Trailers. Other folks like Class A, B or C Motorhomes and others prefer the simplicity of Tent Trailers. It all depends on your unique wants and needs. My only recommendation is to take your time and look around until you find the right RV for you.

You might want to visit our Buy Or Sell An RV Page to see what RVs fit your year and length criteria and also have the other amenities you are looking for.

Since you are going to be buying a used RV you might want to also visit our Used RV Inspection Page to learn how to thoroughly inspect a used RV before buying it. The inspection could save you a lot of money by reducing repair costs.

Hope this was helpful.

a class vs toad
by: Anonymous

we have a 34 ft. Georgie Boy A class and love it, we tow a trailer with a drag car in it to the tracks we go to. We have had A Class for 18 yrs and prefer this when we vacation travel or any long distance, as I get up start it up and am on the road in 5 minutes or less if my coffee water heats up fast enough.

When we need a car to drive the norm is to stop by an airport and pick one up for the day,(hotwire.com has the cheapest last minute rates)

Unhooking and leveling takes way too much time and effort on a toad, the hyd leveling in the MH takes about a minute .

MH has a basement storage for all we seem to need. when we retire in 4.5 yrs we will buy a 40 ft pusher for better mileage and towing power, still plan on towing the drag race car to southern and eastern states, racing and sight seeing as we go for 6 months

Living versus Travelling and more
by: Marlan at RV52.com

As Sheri and I meet more and more RV'ers and do more ourselves, we see that the people who seem to be more focused on limited travel full-time living are inclined to be fifth wheel buyers. The folks that travel a great deal and live full-time seem to be Class A/C owners. The general consensus (unscientific) is that the motorized are a little easier to pull-in/out and 'just get going' (although a towed (toad) vehicle might make this more complex) and that the fifth wheels are a little more convenient if you want to unhook and have your vehicle with you for driving around.

We're leaning towards a fifth wheel our selves. We have a travel trailer, but it isn't setup for two people to be in it an extended period of time.
