How Do I Repair The Roof On My Travel Trailer's Slide Out?

by Sophia
(Austin,TX USA)

Where can I go to find help to know how to replace the roof to my SLide out. I have google but only get the Roof repair help, I need the Slide out roof repair. I have a 32 ft Jayco Eagle 312F.

ANSWER: Greetings Sophia thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

I am not clear on what the actual problem with the roof of your slide out is. If the roof has to be replaced due to severe damage then that is not a do-it-your-selfer job and you should take it in and have a professional repair it for you.

If you have some minor cracks or leaks in the roof you can use a product called Eternabond Roof Seal to easily patch the minor cracks and stop the leaks. Take a look at the video below to see how easy it is to use. Even though this is not a slide out roof you would use the same techniques to repair your slide out roof.

Thats fine but...
by: Anonymous

Someone asks for help doing something and all they are told is to take it to a shop and let them do it. That's fine but what about those of us who do not have the resources to take it to a shop and pay someone else? There are those of us who have the ability to do such work, we are just looking for some guidance about it so we don't start a project completely in the blind?

Small leak in slide out
by: BW

I agree with the answer here, but what do you do when you have a small leak in the slide out that you cannot locate where it is?? The local service shop has had it twice and can't figure it out. I've gone as far as pulling the inside panel off hoping to locate the point of origin. No luck. I would consider replacing the slider roof, but we are in tending on selling it. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated!
