How Do I Install An RV Holding Tank Rinser On My Motorhome?

by James Henry
(Steamboat, Colorado)

I would like to add a black water tank cleaning kit to my 29' 2000 Minnie Winnie. The tank is visible thru the service compartment but is on the opposite side. The tank does not seem to be accessible from the back (passenger) side or the front back or bottom due to metal bulk heads. Is there a way to add a Tornado or other kit easily?

I would like to do this myself as I'm several hundred miles from a service dealer.

ANSWER: Greetings James thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

Based on your description, it sounds like you may have to partially drop your black water tank in order to install an RV Tornado Rotary Tank Rinser.

Since I cannot physically see what you are talking about, I cannot tell you how hard or easy it is going to be for you to install it yourself. If you are not sure how to drop your tank, you may want to seek out the help of another RVer who may have already done the installation on their RV.

If you cannot do it yourself you may have to wait until you can get a Certified RV Technician to do the installation. You might want to check to see if you have any mobile RV Service Companies in your area that come to you to do the installation.

Another temporary option; if you have direct access to your Black Holding through your RV's toilet is to use a Handheld RV Swivel Stik Holding Tank Rinser to clean the Black Water Tank.

Hope this helps.
