Can't Receive Any Digital TV Stations With Winegard Roadstar Antenna

by Ala
(BR, La.)

I have a 2005 concord, Winegard Roadstar 2000 antenna and a new digital TV. Cannot get any channels. does this antenna have a booster or do I need one or something else to get over the air digital channels??? Thanks for any help.

ANSWER: Greetings Ala thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

The Winegard Roadster 2000 Antenna does have a built in amplifier that is suppose to boost the signals that the antenna receives. Because the antenna is Omni-directional (it picks up signals from all directions) in some cases it may not be as efficient at receiving over the air digital TV signals as a directional RV Antenna.

That being said, the first thing I would do is make sure that the antenna's booster is receiving power. There is a wall plate that came with the antenna and on that plate is a switch to turn on the power to the built in amplifier. Make sure the switch is turned on. You will know when the switch is turned on as there will be a red LED that lights up when the power is on. If the LED does not light up it means that either the power supply is not getting any power or there is a short in the COAX Cable leading from the switch to the antenna and the cable needs to be replaced.

I am also assuming that you have checked all of

the COAX cable connections on your TV, Antenna and on the back of the antenna wall plate in your RV to make sure that they are tightly connected.

If everything I described above is OK and if you are still not satisfied with the number of channels you receive you can also install a PCT 1-PORT BI-DIRECTIONAL HDTV AMPLIFIER that I also highly recommend to further improve your TV's reception of Digital TV stations.

If you have any questions about what I described above you should visit our Digital TV Tips For RVers Page which contains everything you need to know about RVing and TVs.

I hope this helps.

Weak FM signal
by: Anonymous

I had a vineyard Roadstar antenna on my RV.
But the TV and the FM signal.l very weak. Especially the FM radio. I remove the antenna and check all cable doesn't look like they have any problems. At the campsite, Most of the time have only had Statics.

In the city get better with the TV but the FM signal very weak.
