Keeping Your Bunnies Warm While RVing

We are planning on taking several of our rabbits to a show that is 10 hours away. They will be riding in our 5th wheel trailer.

Since it will be quite cold outside we were wondering if we could run our furnace in the trailer to keep them from freezing.

Thank You

Gary & Jane

ANSWER: Hi Gary & Jane I am happy to tell you that you will not have to buy any special Parkas for your bunnies, because as long as your furnace has been properly maintained, it is perfectly fine to run it going down the road. Just set the thermostat to the desired temperature and head on down the road.

It is no different than running your RV's Fridge on propane while going down the road. These systems when properly maintained are engineered to be used while the RV is in motion.

Notice the keywords in everything I stated is that any system in your RV is safe as long as they are properly maintained. One of the biggest problems that can occur in an RV furnace is a blocked Exhaust or Air intake vent. Please take a look at the short video below to learn how to properly clean these vents.

Important Safety Tip: Turn off all propane appliances including furnace when fueling your tow vehicle or motorhome.

I hope that this information has been helpful.
