AC Power Not Working In Travel Trailer

by Travis
(AK)

Hi, I have DC power but no AC power. I have a Jay Feather Featherlight LGT 26s (2005) any suggestions? Thanks All.

ANSWER: Greetings Travis thanks for submitting your question on our Ask An RV Question Page.

I am assuming that you are plugged into shore power and that you know that there is power at the shore power source. I am also assuming that you have checked for any tripped circuit breakers and blown fuses.

If you have not done so already you might want to also check for any tripped GFCI outlets. A GFCI outlet looks just like a normal electrical outlet except that it has two buttons on it and acts like a circuit breaker when there is a ground fault in the 120 volt electrical system in the RV. When this GFCI outlet trips it also shuts down other electrical outlets in the RV. Normally these GFCI outlets are located in the bathroom, or kitchen area of the RV, but they can also be located in another part of the RV.

Look around the RV and see if any of these outlets are blown. The GFCI outlet has two buttons one is a test button and the other is the reset button. Make sure you press the reset button. If it blows again soon after you reset it, it means that you have an electric short in the 120 volt system for that part of the RV.

by: Debra from Tx

Lost all power to outlets. Shore power was good...fuses were good. After reading here advising on checking the reset button on the outlet my problem was solved. Thanks very much for having this site up for us who appreciate the help. Happy and safe camping...Debra from Texas

GFCI outlet doesnt work
by: Anonymous

the electrical outlet above the kitchen sink in the camper trailer for the microwave works. All the other outlets don';t have power, nor does the GFCI outlet above the bathroom sink. You can;t even press the reset button; it doesn't press in. Can you please tell me what is wrong here. Thanks
